HISTORY OF THE PRACTICE
Lynnfield Pediatrics originated in 1983 as a solo physician practice by John A. Schey, MD. Soon after, his wife Ruth Hazen, MD joined the practice. Since then, it has grown to include a full-time physician assistant and 3 part-time clinicians.
In 2007, we implemented the electronic medical record shared with Partners Healthcare, which includes Mass General Hospital, Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary, and North Shore Medical Center among its members. In addition to this partnership, we have strong relationships with many specialists at Boston Children's, Tufts Floating Hospital for Children, and other private practices around the North Shore. We can also access electronic records for our patients who have been seen at Boston Children's Hospital. We offer electronic prescribing, which helps get your prescriptions to the pharmacy faster.
THE BIG DIFFERENCE A SMALL PRACTICE MAKES
At a time when large hospitals dominate the health care field, it can be difficult to find a doctor's office that is family-run and unique. While we are affiliated with Partners HealthCare, we still manage our practice independently. By staying small, the families we serve get to know the staff, from the secretaries and nurses to the providers. Every time you call, you will speak to a knowledgeable person and each time you visit, you will see familiar faces. We like operating like this because we believe that good relationships lead to good medical care.
