HISTORY OF THE PRACTICE
Lynnfield Pediatrics originated in 1983 as a solo physician practice by John A. Schey, MD. Soon after, his wife Ruth Hazen, MD joined the practice. Since then, it has grown to include a third physician, a full-time physician assistant, and 3 part-time clinicians.
In August 2017, we changed our affiliation from Partners HealthCare to Highland Health IPA. Highland Health is a non-profit affiliation of many independent physician groups in and around Boston. They share our philosophy of keeping small independent practices in the communities they serve, while improving communication between providers. We will now be more closely affiliated with Winchester Hospital, but our patients will continue to be able to utilize all of the wonderful specialists and hospitals in the area. We are maintaining our strong relationships with many specialists at Partners, Boston Children’s, Tufts Floating Hospital for Children, and other private practices around the North Shore.
THE BIG DIFFERENCE A SMALL PRACTICE MAKES
At a time when large hospitals dominate the health care field, it can be difficult to find a doctor's office that is family-run and unique. By staying small, the families we serve get to know the staff, from the secretaries and nurses to the providers. Every time you call, you will speak to a knowledgeable person and each time you visit, you will see familiar faces. We like operating like this because we believe that good relationships lead to good medical care.
